This sculpture is a reference to the Greek term harmos, denoting concord, balance of opposing forces, interconnection of the inner and outer worlds. Though the piece’s simplified form and choice of material markedly distinguishes it from its setting, it also forms a harmonic unity with it. The mirror surface both reflects and accepts the landscape and events around it. Its coloration is determined by natural light, lushly greening or glimmering in snow dunes. The work portrays an almost androgynous being, combining female and male characteristics, gentle and strong lines. A gesture of raised hands towards the approaching observer suggests ever-open arms, and meditation toward the sky.
Permanent installation in front of Hotel Harmony, Špindlerův Mlýn.
